Feeling Quintessentially French

Hello my field daisies!

Jacket: Sonoma

Crop Top: H&M

Skirt: H&M

Heels: Franco Sarto

Jewelry: I wish I could remember….

Styles crave to mix and mingle.

Today I’ve decided to mix clean cut  and rugged, pairing a black and white stripped crop top with a black leather jacket. I feel quintessentially French, or I suppose the proper adjective would be stereotypically. Why do stripes connote Frenchness? Perhaps Gout Taste can give a better answer.

I really wish I remember where I got my jewelry. I know the triangle necklace was from Kinnucan’s, but I can’t remember the brand. These leaf shaped gold bird earrings I’ve had for a while. They are paper thin and feel as if they weigh nothing. The only time I can ever wear earrings is when my hair is pulled back. Otherwise my long hair conceals my ears. The good thing about bangs is that pony tails are pretty easy to rock.

My hair has changed a lot through the years. For a while I just had it plain jane parted to the side and straightened. Then I started mimicking celebrities, going for the dip dye trend and the fringe bang trend. But now I want a style of my own. With the the magic of a straightener, putty and hair spray, I’ve managed to create a fringe and side swept hybrid. I also plan on never cutting my hair short, and I’m hoping it’ll soon reach my hip bone. And the great thing about my cut is its versatility. I can change it into Zooey Deschanel’s think fringes or Taylor Swift’s new side swept look. I could even pull my bangs back with a head band to give my eyebrows a breath of fresh air. I like this look a lot, and I think I’m going to keep it for a while.

My advice to my readers: don’t be afraid to experiment. Perhaps not the most sound advice. I’ve definitely had a few parental disapprovals with my hair choices. I always say to myself, “It’s just hair. It’ll grow back.”

I’ve worn a lot of my pieces in other fashion posts. The only new items are the crop top and skirt, which were both around 5 dollars. Not a bad deal. Fashion companies try to advertise to us like we throw out our whole closets to buy the new summer trends. Maybe reality stars like Kim Kardashian can do so, but us real gals mix the new with the old to create our own trends.

Here are some other posts from last summer:

The heels featured Zigzag Swag.

The triangle necklace featured in Triangular Outer Space.

That’s it for today!

So glad it’s finally summer 🙂

Love ya’ll and thanks for reading!

Hope you have a daisyish day!
