3 Covers of “This Town” by Niall Horan

Hello my field daisies!

Niall Horan from One Direction is branching out with his own song, “This Town,” an acoustic single about his lingering love for a woman who has moved on to someone new. Here are 3 YouTube covers that I feel do the song justice. So if you are tired of hearing “This Town” on the radio a million times and want to hear it sung different ways, this post is for you!

Also here is a playlist of the three covers just in case you want to hear them all together. But below I actually talk a little about each of them.

1. Fly By Midnight

Fly By Midnight describes themselves as two NYC dudes making retro pop music. After scrounging through YouTube, I felt like they did the best job of turning this coffeeshop jam into something dance worthy. They really took the song and made it their own. Their production value is also off the charts for a YouTube cover. It’s simple, but so pleasing to watch. Never heard of them until yesterday, but I’m already in love.

2. Gabriella

I love this cover because instead of a guitar, there is piano and quiet violins accompanying the song as well as a background vocals during the chorus. The harmonizing and extra instrumentals adds a new twist to this song, while still keeping the integrity of the true version. Gabriella is actually more of a beauty guru, so it’s great to see her break out of her shell and do covers. Love it!

3. TheFu

Lastly I had to include one of my all time favorite YouTubers, TheFu. The channel started as two brothers singing covers, but now I think Josh mainly runs the channel, and there is other content such as vlogs, challenges and rants. I have been watching these guys for years. They were one of the first YouTubers I ever watched. This cover really sticks to what Niall’s original version, and it’s really nice to hear another person singing it with an acoustic guitar. I love the nature cutaways as well.

Love ya’ll and thanks for reading!

Hope you have a daisyish day!
