Top Three Things To Know Before Watching Camp Takota

Hello my field daisies!

My apologies for going on another one of my month long hiatuses! I was in a production of Macbeth (playing Witch 2), and it basically consumed my life. But now I have a greater appreciation for Shakespeare, and the lines of Macbeth still haunt my everyday speech. Despite the curse that surrounds the play, I had a great experience with some wonderful fellow cast mates. I did get a power drill to my thumb, but that’s another story.

Today I am giving you the need to know information about a movie I recently watched for the second time, Camp Takota. Shakespeare often wrote roles for specific actors, even using their real names in the script. I can’t help but remember this fact when I watch Camp Takota because the writing fits the personalities of Mamrie Hart, Grace Helbig, and Hannah Hart so perfectly. It’s as if these three were born to play these roles.

Though Mamrie Hart did help with writing the screenplay, so I can’t say I’m surprised. See a snippet of the movie for yourself in the trailer below!

If this is your first time hearing about this movie, then you’re in luck! Here are the top three things you need to know before watching Camp Takota!

1. This movie is not in theaters. It is available at camptakota.com.

Movie theaters are so old school. This movie has an interesting marketing strategy, skipping the big screens and going straight to internet downloads and t-shirt sales. You can get the movie for $9.99 here. And with the price of movie tickets skyrocketing, this deal isn’t so bad because you can watch the movie anytime and anywhere with as many people as you like. If this price is still too high for your taste, continue reading. You can find videos of these actors FOR FREE on YouTube.

2. Camp Takota was created entirely by YouTubers.

This movie is directed by the BrothersRidell and stars the three amigos: Mamrie Hart (YouDeserveADrink), Grace Helbig (ItsGrace), and Hannah Hart (MyDrunkKitchen).

Chester See (ChesterSee) and Sawyer Hartman (SawyerHartman) also appeared in minor roles.

3. This is not the first time these folks have been in front of the camera or the first time they’ve worked together.

You can’t understand the awesomeness of Camp Takota without first knowing the history and the interconnections.

The Brothers Ridell were Internet Icons’ first winners. Internet Icon is an “American Idol-esque” game show hosted by the YOMYOMF network, where YouTube content creators gathered to see who could create the best videos. Chester See was a judge for the show.

One of my favorite skits the Brothers Ridell did was called “My New Girlfriend,” which has just the right amount of humor and horror. The dashing Sawyer Hartman also guest starred in this video.

Mamrie, Grace, and Hannah are friends in real life, and often appear on each other channels. Here is a video of them on Mamrie’s channel celebrating her 30th birthday.

There are many more collabs done, but I don’t have time to put them all here! If you want to see more just search YouTube. I will leave you with one with Grace and Chris 🙂

That’s it for today! Go watch Camp Takota and then read my review about it!

    Hey, i’m having a daisyish day! 😛
    about Camp Takota
    Its A Sweet Movie!
Camp Takota proves that the Holy Trinity of YouTube (Grace Helbig, Mamrie Hart, and Hannah Hart) can successfully deliver a humorous and touching film. The three leading ladies were awesome in their roles, with Mamrie and her character standing out the most (for me). Grace’s somewhat dry sense of humor contributed to the hilarity of her jokes and quips. I was really impressed with Hannah in this film too, never having seen her act before. This is an all around touching film that will leave the viewer with a pleasant feeling afterward.

    • Hey sweet Amy! Thank you so much for commenting on my post. It’s great to see my review being critiqued and appreciated 🙂 I agree the Holy Trinity is a great combo, and I see great things in their future ahead. Mamrie is def a stand out character, especially with her speech to the campers. A+ performance. As for your link, I would be careful. I am not gonna lie, I illegally stream occasionally, but be careful! Best, Daisy
