Stucco Walls
By Daisy Dai
Everything looks like art when you are in an argument.
Shadows on walls fill with meaning as you strive
to drown out the hurtful jabs of someone you thought loved you.
Walls you overlooked now hold abstract patterns that need to be analyzed.
Stucco helps you feel a little less stuck.
The pulsing texture looks purposeful.
It screams for your attention.
Anything, they will say anything—
They could say nothing, and I would still look their way.
Anything, anything, anything to stop your painful prose
from entering my impressional heart.
