Be My Forever

Hello my field daisies!

Hope you’re all having a beautiful Saturday!

Here is a sunny little tune that surely make your day!

‘Be My Forever’ is a duet between Christina Perri and Ed Sheeran. The song is off of Christina Perri’s new album, “Head or Heart.” The lyrics of the song are really simple. We got love. We got time. Be my forever. What makes this song so special is the the powerhouse vocals of Christina and Ed. Their voices mesh together so well, making the song surreally heart warming and deliciously addicting. The acoustic guitar, tambourine and handclaps give the song a light and airy feel, and I love it so much.

My favorite part of the song is toward the end when Christina asks, “Will you love me forever?” and Ed answers, “I’ll be your forever.”

I think these two would make the cutest couple.

For one thing, they both have an extensive tattoo collection.

Anyway if you haven’t had a chance to check out Head or Heart please do! This new album has rekindled my love for Christina Perri.  You might remember her hit singles from 2011, Bluebird, Arms, Jar of Hearts, and Distance. Be My Forever is one of the few happy songs on Head or Heart. Most of the songs are very heart breaking, full of lyrics about dysfunctional relationships, ones where one partner loves the other more.

These woeful songs falls in line with her dating history, getting married at 21 and then getting divorced at 22. Her songs speak to the sometimes bitter realities of dating. The emotional experience she gained from her relationships makes her lyrics uniquely poetic. My favorite song on the album, besides Be My Forever, is Sea of Lovers. I feel like it’s a play on the saying, “There’s plenty of fish in the sea.”

There may be plenty of fish in the sea, but you’re the only one for me. That kind of thing.

In the sea of lovers without ships
And lover’s without size, you’re the only way out of this
Sea of lovers losing time
And lover’s losing hope, will you let me follow you
Wherever you go, bring me home

(lyrics from Sea of Lovers)

There are also songs about moving on, and Head or Heart seems to be Christina’s declaration that she has emerged from this bad break up a stronger person, strong enough to tell others it will be okay.

Hold on, hold…..
‘cause I’ve been where you are before,
And I have felt the pain of losing who you are,
And I have died so many times but I am still alive.

This is not the end of me,
This is the beginning.
(Hold on)
(I am still alive)

(lyrics from I Believe)

That’s it for today!

Love ya’ll and thanks for reading!

Hope you have a daisyish day!
