tiny sparks

tiny sparks

By Daisy Dai

love hits me so unexpectedly
like that spark you get when you
rub your finger on a fuzzy blanket
the wrong way
that tiny white light of electricity
between your finger and the fur
it stings for a millisecond
not enough to hurt you
just enough to make you notice

it’s quick. it’s easy. it’s painless.
and it makes me feel alive
