Time Flies

Time Flies

By Daisy Dai

Time flies when you’re having fun,
But in a blink of an eye,
It stops flying and becomes
Painfully slow, barely able to flap
Its wings to stay in the air.

Life is a journey that moves too fast
And not fast enough.

One day everything will end, and
All that you know to be true, will
Disappear, leaving no trace you ever existed.

The logical thing to do would be to
Fill life with the mundane, sedate time
To a halt to preserve what little we have.

But life is more fun when the nagging
Doom of time is hushed, and joy fills
The air when you stop thinking about
Not wasting time.
