There It Goes

There It Goes

By Daisy Dai

How quickly love comes,
how quickly it goes

In no time at all
the water that once
was so clear has
become gray from
a single droplet
of ink.

Clouding, contaminating
so neither of us can take
any more sips.

The ink keeps coming,
that pen bleeding
and we’re unable to
stop it.

It’s all over our hands,
staining them blue.

I never knew
love was so fickle,
so frail,

How easily it came
There it goes.
