Hello my field daisies!
I love the summer. With long days of sunshine and blue skies, who doesn’t enjoy the summer season?
This maxi dress is from the company Ya Los Angeles. I don’t know why, but the town I live in loves this line of clothing. In every small boutique downtown, you can be sure to find the Ya label. Even the store I work at, which is kind of like a college speciality outfitter store, sells Ya.
So I have grown up very familiar with this brand, and I must say they create some excellent pieces of clothing.
Their pieces are very distinct and fashion forward. I can always tell when something is made by Ya.
This particular maxi dress is a great example of stylish Ya clothing!
The gradient trend is popping up everywhere. I’ve even mentioned it in one of my earlier blog posts. Ombre is now not just for hair, but for clothes as well. This particular color scheme fades from dark purple to creamy pinkish white to dark purple again. It is like a double gradient fade.
The material of this dress is super light and breezy. I don’t think you can tell from the pictures, but the dress is actually see through.
Here is a better picture showing how sheer the dress really is.
I love how the sheerness of the dress allows the inside layer to be visible. The inside slip acts not only as a cover, but becomes part of the dress’s design. It’s simple, yet genius.
For my shoes I decided to go with some plain jane neutral heels. I wanted them to coordinate with the light middle section of my dress.
Nude as a color for heels is a fairly recent fashion trend. I think the neutral color photographs well and makes your actual outfit stand out more, which is maybe why you see it often at red carpet events.
Since my dress doesn’t have many embellishments, I wanted to have some fun with the jewelry. I decided this was the perfect opportunity to try the multiple necklace trend!
For this outfit, I used a small cross necklace (that I got as a Secret Santa gift) and a long pearl and pink bead necklace (from I don’t know where).
Layering necklaces can be kind of tricky. I always try to match the color of the chains. For example, I wouldn’t mix a necklace with a gold chain with a necklace with a silver chain.
My earrings also have a silver chain and match the pink beads on my necklace really well!
I love the simplicity of these earrings. Simplicity is elegance in my opinion.
Love ya’ll and thanks for reading!
Hope you have a daisyish day!
