Meditating To Find Peace

I feel well rested.
My body is healthy.
I have no pain anywhere,
expect in the middle
of my back as I try
to sit straight as I meditate.
I even have time to do nothing
but breathe.

But I still feel this looming
weight of the future.
Uncertainty a cloud that
envelops my every thought and
worrying too much about the future,
overthinking what has already passed.

Useless thinking honestly.
The past is already etched in stone,
and who knows how I will feel in the
future. Most likely worrying about
what’s yet to come, and regretting
this very moment.
