How to make love sparkle again.
That’s the riddle that’s been
on my mind lately.

When the flames that once twinkled and
shimmered so,
is starting to fade.

A creeping coldness that
brings goosebumps
on even the most
summery, sunshine Saturday.

A weak sparkle blinking
just enough to keep me
tethered to you, weakly
binding our lukewarm hands
together.

Maybe I’m overthinking it.
Maybe this is just how love goes.

But I can’t help but to dream,
of those times when,
I thought specks of warming
glitter would
dust our fingers,
enough glow to burn for eternity.
