Hello my field daisies!
I feel like I can’t say I am a media enthusiast unless I talk about the great American media spectacle that is the Super Bowl and its notoriously epic half time shows.
Now I was a little skeptical when I heard Bruno Mars was preforming. I kept thinking of him sadly and emotionally singing, “I’d catch a grenade for ya.” I just didn’t think he had it in him to follow in the heels of Beyonce and deliver an outstanding performance.
Boy was I wrong.
Bruno Mars killed it. I have a new found love for Bruno, a love that is built on resurfaced memories of all his catchy tunes that I grew up on. I am so glad he ended with Just the Way You Are because that brought me back all the way to 2010, to when I first heard his glorious vocals. I forgot what an amazing love ballad that song is, and hearing that song again made me see fireworks. literally and metaphorically.
And can we just talk about his fancy footwork? His Michael Jackson worthy moonwalks and his all of a sudden, oh snap no he didn’t, split?
He looked so clean and fresh with his gold suit and skinny black tie.
And his band was just so in sync, a perfect ensemble to match this perfect man.
He definitely had some golden boy swag.
And then the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Now don’t get me wrong. I jammed to Dani California when I was little.
But compared to the precision and quality of Bruno, these guys just looked like a hot mess.
The only words I understood out of Anthony Kiedis’ mouth was “put it in you” and “give it away.”
And what in the world was he wearing?
Anyway no disrespect, the guitar solo was nice, but it just wasn’t super bowl worthy.
I leave you guys with these closing words from my bad girl Riri:
That’s it for today!
Love ya’ll and thanks for reading!
Hope you have a daisyish day!
