Accidentally Marilyn

Hello my field daisies!

Marilyn Monroe is such a fashion icon, and she is just so fabulous to me. I definitely have a major girl crush on Marilyn. Her style is so classic and sexy, she had all the boys turning her way.

So today’s outfit is inspired by this lovely picture of Marilyn Monroe <3

I love how it looks like she is caught off guard, yet her “caught off guard” look is so perfect.

Ironically I sort of had one of those accident moments in my shoot. I moved my hand to fix my hair right when Michaela snapped the picture.

I think my accident shot looks better than the regular pose. My face looks more alive. In this picture, I look tired or how I like to put it, Victorian. Back then only the rich could have the money to take pictures and even then the cameras were not instant like we have today.

I feel like I look like I had to sit in my pose for hours waiting for the camera to click.

(Though this is completely not true. The shoot itself took less than 15 minutes. It is amazing what the camera does and doesn’t capture.)

Anyway I wanted to put my own spin on Marilyn’s classic white dress look by putting a grey knitted tank over a white eyelet dress. I decided to go with neutral heels again to bring more attention to my outfit.

I also wanted something eye-catching to bring my outfit together. I am loving the fact that big and bold necklaces are making a return this summer. This necklace is Michaela’s, and I love her for letting me borrow it for this shoot!

My grey tank is Lauren Conrad, and my white dress is American Eagle. My watch is bought from Esty.com.
